Tenho o USB WiFi DOngle da Netgear WNA1100 (Athreos 9271). Não consigo iniciar o wlan0.Eu instalei o firmware necessário em / lib / firmware. SO é o Ubuntu Server 12.04

iwconfig e a interface de extensão sem fio ( WEXT ) está praticamente obsoleta e acredito que esteja no processo de sendo lentamente removidas do kernel. A maioria das ferramentas modernas de gerenciamento de interface sem fio no Linux usa uma interface mais moderna baseada em netlink , fornecida pelo subsistema cfg80211 .

Sugiro que você tente o iw em vez de iwconfig .
