Não é possível reproduzir o arquivo de vídeo 720p mkv

Estou tendo problemas para reproduzir um arquivo mkv de 720p no meu computador. Ele não será aberto no Media Player Classic (com o K-lite codec pack) ou no GOMPlayer, mas será aberto no VLC. No entanto, no VLC, parece que vai pular um pouco de vez em quando e às vezes ele estraga e inicia o vídeo no início (mas quando isso acontece, o áudio fica confuso).

Meu processador é o Intel i7 - 720QM e minha placa de vídeo é o ATi Mobility Radeon HD 5870.

Eu acho que Dennis está certo. Eu tentei vídeos 720p de outra fonte e eles jogam bem. Além disso, quando tentei recodificar o arquivo, meu programa de codificação me deu erros.
