Reinstalar o Xcode com as ferramentas de desenvolvimento do UNIX me permitiu instalar o pkgconfig.
Eu instalei o Macports 1.8.2 de um DMG. Isso pareceu instalar bem. Eu corri sudo port selfupdate para ter certeza de que minha árvore de ports estava atual. Eu então tentei instalar bindfs como eu quero montar alguns diretórios no meu sistema de arquivos OS X (como você pode fazer com mount --bind no linux).
pkgconfig e macfuse são duas dependências de bindfs . Eu tive problemas ao instalar bindfs devido a erros ao instalar o pkgconfig , então tentei instalar o pkgconfig , aqui está a saída de depuração do sudo port install pkgconfig :
