Compartilhar a conexão com a Internet no Windows 7 é muito mais frustrante do que o Windows XP

De volta ao tempo do Windows XP, na caixa de diálogo Propriedades da minha conexão sem fio, eu posso ativar o compartilhamento e, em seguida, selecionar rede LAN na lista suspensa e boom, posso compartilhá-lo com meu amigo. Nós só precisamos de um cabo de LAN (cruz ou não-cruzado é OK) e seu laptop receberá um IP automático para obter acesso à internet.

Mas agora com o novo Windows 7, tudo começa a ser ruim. Não consigo mais ver a Lista suspensa no painel de compartilhamento e meus amigos Laptop não podem mais receber um IP automático.

Estou fazendo algo errado por lá? Como posso recuperar a paz que costumava ter com o Windows XP?

To enable ICS (Internet Connection Sharing), on your host computer:

• Click to open Network Connections.

• Right-click the connection that you want to share, and then click Properties. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

• Click the Sharing tab, and then select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection check box.

  Notes

  • The Sharing tab won't be available if you have only one network connection.

  • You can choose whether to select the Allow other network users to control or disable the shared Internet connection check box.

  • Optionally, to allow other network users to use services running on your network, click Settings, and then select the services you want to allow.
