Depois de instalar uma nova cópia do Ubuntu 14.04 baixada do site ubuntu.com Estou tentando instalar alguns pacotes seja ele nodejs ou apache2 ele sempre diz nome não encontrado. Eu procurei um pouco e encontrei algumas respostas aqui

Parece que você está usando um proxy para se conectar com repositórios. Talvez o arquivo de configuração em /etc/apt/apt.conf esteja errado. Por favor confira conteúdos. Deve estar no formato:

Acquire::http::proxy "http://<username>:<password>@<proxy>:<port>/";
Acquire::ftp::proxy "ftp://<username>:<password>@<proxy>:<port>/";
Acquire::https::proxy "https://<username>:<password>@<proxy>:<port>/";

nome de usuário não pode ser um email !!! - nome de usuário e senha podem estar vazios - remover < >

Se você conseguir se conectar diretamente à Internet, simplesmente exclua o arquivo /etc/apt/apt.conf. (Também é recomendável fazer o backup primeiro :)) Todas essas informações se aplicam ao Ubuntu 12.04 a 14.04 (até onde eu sei)
