Por que o systemctl não está iniciando o redis-server no CentOS 7?

Eu instalei o redis em uma nova caixa do CentOS 7, mas não consigo iniciá-lo usando systemctl.

Foi instalado assim:

rpm -i http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/beta/7/x86_64/epel-release-7-0.2.noarch.rpm
yum install redis

A tentativa de iniciá-lo assim pareceu falhar silenciosamente (não houve saída):

systemctl start redis-server # also tried redis-server.service

Veja o que acontece ao tentar se conectar:

redis-cli
Could not connect to Redis at 127.0.0.1:6379: Connection refused
not connected>

Mas começar manualmente funciona:

[root@redis ~]# redis-server /etc/redis.conf
[root@redis ~]# redis-cli
127.0.0.1:6379>

Alguém sabe o que está errado ou como depurar isso?

UPDATE: a saída de /var/log/redis/redis.log está abaixo. Btw é um 512mb RAM VPS.

Finalmente, conserte-o. O Systemd requer redis para rodar não-daemonised, então a configuração precisa mudar:

# /etc/redis.conf
daemonize yes # << comment this out
