Não é possível conectar-se ao pop3 ou imap com o Dovecot

Question

As conexões são recusadas no meu servidor. Nota: Estou tentando conectar-se ao localhost aqui.

Comando que estou tentando usar para testar:

user@hostname:~$ telnet localhost pop3
Trying ::1...
Trying 127.0.0.1...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

O mesmo erro quando tento com o imap.

O wiki dovecot sugere problemas para o problema, mas eu já tentei as correções. Eu tenho os protocolos adicionados na configuração e tenho a opção de escuta definida como * . Minha configuração está abaixo. Não tenho certeza do que está errado?     ## Arquivo de configuração do Dovecot

A mensagem Unable to connect ... Connection refused sugere strongmente que o Dovecot não está escutando na porta 110. Verifique se o dovecot está realmente rodando usando

ps -A | grep dovecot

Se sim, verifique se está escutando na porta POP:

sudo lsof -i 4 -a -p $(ps -A | grep dovecot | awk '{ print  }')

Se sim, verifique se não há firewall no caminho.

Se acontecer que o dovecot não esteja em execução ou não esteja escutando na porta POP, provavelmente você configurou incorretamente o dovecot. Examine os logs do sistema e do sistema para erros. Examine a configuração do dovecot como saída por dovecot -n .
