Resolvido por:
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Eu atualizei meu sistema do Ubuntu 14.04 para o Ubuntu 16.04 há alguns dias, nem o Chrome nem o Chromium são lançados depois disso (não houve erros / problemas na instalação de ambos). Aqui está o resultado da execução de dois comandos para executar cada aplicativo:

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Com base na transcrição fornecida, a biblioteca libnss3 dynamic não pode ser encontrada. O seguinte deve resolver o problema:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libnss3
