Intel VT-x não está funcionando no Dell Precision M4400 (processador P8600)

Question

Eu tenho um Dell Precision Laptop modelo M4400 com um processador Intel Core 2 Duo P8600. No BIOS, existem várias opções para habilitar a tecnologia de virtualização (VT-x). Eu mudei todas essas opções para ON. Meu problema é que nem o Virtual PC 2007 nem o VirtualBox da Sun me permitirão usar o VT-x neste sistema.

Sistema operacional do host: Windows Vista Enterprise SP1 ( de 64 bits )

Eu descobri o mistério. No BIOS do M4400, existem 3 opções de virtualização. Uma dessas opções é chamada "Execução confiável", que eu tinha ativado. Mesmo que meu TPM estivesse habilitado, por algum motivo essa configuração estava fazendo com que o sistema não reconhecesse o VT-x. Uma vez que eu desabilitei "Trusted Execution" em meu BIOS na seção "Virtualization", eu pude usar o VT-x no Virtual PC e no Sun xVM VirtualBox

Desligue o computador. Idealmente, eu também removo o cabo de energia para desligar completamente a placa-mãe. Então ligue novamente.

A configuração de VT permanece a mesma quando a CPU é ligada, independentemente do BIOS. Você precisa remover a energia para liberar a trava e fazer com que a nova configuração entre em vigor.

Eu tive esse problema e descobri que a solução de desligamento do SpaceManSpiff resolveu completamente o problema. Eu tenho um Dell E6400 com um Intel Core Duo P9500.

Passos que segui:

• Host do VirtualBox 3.1.0 instalado Windows Vista, convidado Ubuntu
• Virtual Box, vá para Configurações | Sistema | Processadores; configure para 2 processadores
• Iniciar a máquina
• tem o "VT-x não está disponível"
• reinicializado e F2 para chegar ao BIOS, ativado
• tem o "VT-x não está disponível"
• usado "securable.exe" do link e descoberto que o VT-x ainda estava desativado
• puxou para fora ouvir, procurou muito, encontrou a postagem de SpaceManSpiff
• desligado e retirado da bateria (não tenho certeza se a bateria fez alguma diferença)
• ligado e funciona agora!

Estou feliz por finalmente ter dois processadores para minha máquina virtual!

Funciona quase da mesma forma descrita pela Sanmi no HP 6530b com CPU Intel® Core ™ 2 Duo T9600 @ 2.80GHz. É muito importante desligar o computador após a alteração do BIOS VT.

SecurAble mostra "Locked On" mas funciona (VT-x), especialmente sob SUN VirtualBox-3.1.2-56127-Win.
