Eu estraguei meu sistema de pacotes local, como posso consertá-lo?

Depois de remover um PPA, recentemente meu sistema de pacotes local ficou confuso. Agora, ele me pede para executar sudo apt-get -f install para corrigir dependências.

Tendo aguardado alguns dias para que o problema se resolvesse (às vezes, as dependências mudam devido a novas versões do pacakage), isso não aconteceu depois de tudo. Então, minha pergunta é: qual é a saída? Está reinstalando o sistema o único método?

Note: Estou ciente de que este não é o lugar para lidar com seus problemas com lançamentos alpha, mas na minha opinião vale a pena dar uma resposta geral sobre como lidar com o problema.

Isso funcionou para mim:

  1. Abra o Synaptic
  2. Pode-se dizer There are broken packages on your system. Se isso acontecer, vá para Edit -> Mark broken packages e clique em aplicar.
  3. Feche o Synaptic e faça sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade e tudo ficará bem novamente.

sudo dpkg --configure -a e, em seguida, executando sudo apt-get -f install devem fazer o truque

sudo dpkg --configure --pending deve limpar os pacotes que não estão totalmente instalados. Depois de instalados, ou se falhar, tente sudo apt-get purge <packages>
