Não é possível conectar (ou gravar) um arquivo de soquete, apesar de ser proprietário?

Eu estou trabalhando no Debian Jessie com o Django 1.8, tentando configurar o Gunicorn para rodar o meu site Django. Eu fiz um usuário chamado opuser e fiz desse usuário o proprietário do arquivo gunicorn.sock e do diretório que o contém:

$ ls -lash /webapps/myapp/run/
total 8.0K
4.0K drwxrwxrwx  2 opuser users 4.0K Sep  1 12:24 .
4.0K drwxrwxrwx+ 7 opuser users 4.0K Sep  1 10:37 ..

Agora, se eu tentar executar o gunicorn como opuser :

gunicorn myapp.wsgi:application --name myapp_prod --workers 3 
  --bind=unix:/webapps/myapp/run/gunicorn.sock --user opuser 
  --group webapps --log-level=debug

Eu recebo:

OSError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/webapps/myapp/run/gunicorn.sock'

Por que estou recebendo permissão negada, quando opuser é o proprietário do diretório que contém?

Se eu executar ls -lash /webapps/myapp/run , vejo o seguinte:

   0 srwxrwxrwx  1 anna   anna     0 Sep  1 12:24 gunicorn.sock

Parece que o arquivo gunicorn.sock tem permissões realmente permissivas, embora não esteja sendo criado com o proprietário que eu esperava.

UPDATE: Estas são as permissões nos diretórios pai (que são /webapps e /webapps/myapp :

UPDATE 2: Se eu for su to opuser , posso criar novos arquivos em /webapps/myapp/run okay, mas não consigo abrir o arquivo gunicorn.sock no vi sem receber um erro de permissão:

sudo su - opuser
touch /webapps/myapp/run/testfile
vi /webapps/myapp/run/gunicorn.sock

Em vi , vejo ~/run/gunicorn.sock" [Permission Denied] .

Eu acho que este é o coração do problema - mas por que não posso abri-lo? O problema persiste mesmo se eu fizer sudo chown opuser:webapps /webapps/myapp/run/gunicorn.sock e, em seguida, tentar abri-lo novamente.

UPDATE 3: saída getfacl para o arquivo e todos contendo diretórios.
