questão Wi-Fi. Dell Latitude E6400 Ubuntu 12,04

Nova instalação do 12.04 em um Dell LAtitude E6400 e surgiu com os problemas sem fio. Eu sou bastante novo para a linha de comando linux, mas tenho usado o Ubuntu há vários anos em uma Dell D630 então eu pesquisei, sudo'd, reinstalado e agora a luz liga e desliga com o interruptor externo e é possível habilitar o opção sem fio nas configurações de conectividade, mas ainda não verá nenhuma rede wifi.

De qualquer forma, obviamente preciso de ajuda para conectá-lo.

Laptop não conecta nenhum problema através do fio, se você olhar para a nm-tools, ele diz que o wireless está desconectado. Então, como faço para dizer se conectado?

Eu gosto de usar o WICD porque é um gerenciador de rede simples e fácil de usar. É uma alternativa muito boa para o gerenciador de rede no Ubuntu e parece sempre funciona quando o Network Manager não funciona. Para instalá-lo basta abrir o terminal. Agora baixe o NetworkManager mais recente, caso precise reinstalá-lo se o WICD não funcionar

    sudo apt-get install -d --reinstall network-manager network-manager-gnome 

Then to install it

    sudo apt-get install wicd-gtk 

And now you need to uninstall NetworkManager:

    sudo apt-get remove --purge network-manager-gnome network-manager 

Agora você pode encontrar o WICD no seu menu Inicie o WICD, encontre a rede que deseja usar e insira as informações necessárias, senha, criptografia, etc. e escolha Conectar automaticamente a esta rede. Você deveria estar bem para ir!

O WICD também pode estar disponível no Ubuntu Update Manager para que você possa procurar primeiro mas é importante desinstalar completamente o Network Manager para evitar conflitos!
