Temos um servidor remoto dedicado hospedado por Hetzner .
O sistema operacional é Debian 9.4 LAMP (Apache, Mysql, PHP instalado por padrão).
Usamos o servidor para analisar big data usando python (um pouco), R (servidor R-studio open source) e Clickhouse (banco de dados orientado a colunas). Então, essas são as únicas coisas que usamos lá.
Houve situações em que os processos R ocuparam muita memória e os matamos pelo PID. Às vezes usamos o reboot para lidar com isso. Mas da última vez, após o lançamento do servidor R-Processos pesado, parou de responder (ao tentar se conectar via ssh ele recusa a conexão). Nós o reinicializamos via hetzner robot-panel. Primeiramente, foi a reinicialização automatizada. Depois disso, tentamos conectar via ssh ou sftp - servidor recusa a conexão (ou "erro de rede. Conexão recusada" foi a resposta). Então nós pedimos reset manual de hardware - mas novamente nada mudou. No entanto, podemos efetuar o ping com êxito no servidor.
Em seguida, ativamos o sistema de recuperação que nos permite obter acesso ao servidor dentro de outras OS para podermos ver os logs e outros arquivos. A coisa mais estranha que descobrimos - depois da primeira reinicialização do syslog, daemon.log e auth.log não foram atualizados. Apenas o arquivo / var / log / wtmp foi atualizado após a segunda reinicialização. Quando abriu as últimas linhas foram cerca de duas reinicializações, tudo o outro foi novamente mais cedo do que a primeira reinicialização (que foi realizada em 14:27 25.09)

Parece que os processos R supercomprometem a memória e o sshd e outros processos não conseguem nada disso. Mas não conseguimos descobrir o que aconteceu após a reinicialização, porque o servidor ainda recusa a conexão e não atualiza os registros.
Realizamos rápidas verificações de disco smartctl (tudo ok) e trocamos o servidor (via suporte Hetzner) mantendo as unidades. Então, parece não ser um problema de hardware.
