Os endereços PCI de 2 portas de rede diferem apenas no campo “device function” = eles pertencem à mesma NIC?

Vamos dar, por exemplo 81:00.0 e 81:00.1 . O id do seu bus e o id do dispositivo coincidem.

Isso significa que elas são as portas da mesma NIC, ou seja, compartilham o mesmo controlador de ethernet?

82599ES folha de dados (p. 64) declara:

PCIe device numbers identify logical devices within the physical device (the 82599 is a physical device). The 82599 implements a single logical device with two separate PCI Functions: LAN 0 and LAN 1. The device number is captured from each type 0 configuration write transaction.

Portanto, pelo menos nesse caso, 81:00.0 e 81:00.1 são duas portas da mesma NIC.
