timeout openldap faz com que o servidor fique mais lento

Correndo em um problema com o openldap, eu nunca tive muito sucesso para resolver. Nós rodamos o openldap em outra máquina em sua própria vlan. Agora, se esse servidor ldap morre, qualquer coisa que acesse uid ou gid parece ser paralisada até que um timeout aconteça.

Se eu matar o servidor ldap e reiniciar o nscd para que o cache não esteja lá, recebo um longo tempo de pesquisa.

Como você pode ver, levou mais de um minuto e eu ctrl + c. O usuário está em / etc / passwd também

Esse problema geralmente é resolvido por camadas extras de cache como o PAM ccreds ou uma solução mais avançada, como o sssd do RHEL. Para pam ccreds, o arquivo de configuração /etc/pam.d/common-auth será como

auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_unix.so
auth [authinfo_unavail=ignore success=1 default=2] /lib/security/pam_ldap.so use_first_pass
auth [default=done]     /lib/security/pam_ccreds.so action=validate use_first_pass
auth [default=done]     /lib/security/pam_ccreds.so action=store
auth [default=bad]      /lib/security/pam_ccreds.so action=update

Além disso, se você não se importa com as contas armazenadas no ldap, authinfo_unavail=ignore também pode ajudar por conta própria. Embora eu não esteja 100% certo de que o nscd não usa o LDAP de consulta para outra finalidade.
