Use o Atualizador de Software ou o Software para atualizações? Ou ambos?

Então isso é intrigante. Estou executando 16.04.1 (atualizado no lugar de 14.04) e não tenho certeza do procedimento para atualizações regulares.

Recebo notificações do Software Updater, como nas versões anteriores, e as executo. Mas quando eu inicio o novo Software (substituto do Centro de Software), também vejo as atualizações a serem instaladas a partir desse aplicativo.

Estou fazendo as duas coisas, mas não tenho certeza do que está acontecendo aqui. Alguém sabe o que está acontecendo?

Isso não é uma opção nem uma. Use qualquer ferramenta que funcione para você. Eu uso o aptitude, apt-get e Software Updater em alguns sistemas.

Estes são principalmente front-ends diferentes na frente dos mesmos dados. aptitude usa apt-get entre outras ferramentas. Não me preocupei em descobrir quais ferramentas o Software Updater usa, mas espero que apt-get seja uma delas.
