Parece que você ainda tem um pacote antigo do mysql 5.5 que entra em conflito com sua tentativa de instalação 5.1.
Fazendo um:
yum remove mysql-libs
deve removê-lo e permitir que você instale corretamente o seu pacote de servidor MySQL 5.1.
Não consigo instalar o MySQL 5.1 no Fedora 16. Quando tento instalar um RPM baixado do site MySQL, recebo erros de conflito com os pacotes 5.5 existentes que já removi através do yum.
