Red Hat 6 conecta-se ao MS SQL server 2005 usando freetds; pdo_dblib e php

Question

Estou com um problema ao me conectar ao meu Microsoft SQL Server 2005 a partir de uma caixa da Red Hat usando o freetds. Meu objetivo final é poder conectar usando o PDO do php, mas não pareço ser capaz de se conectar ao testar usando o "tsql".

Eu não acho que seja um problema de firewall, pois posso fazer o telnet.

Eu acredito que esta é a configuração certa, porque se eu executar o mesmo comando na minha máquina Debian local, ele parece ter sucesso.

Eu tentei conectar a configuração "TDSVER = 7.0", "TDSVER = 7.2", "TDSVER = 8.0" e todos eles não funcionam.

O problema foi um problema de firewall.

Tanto quanto eu posso dizer, quando eu fiz isso

telnet <ip> 1433
Trying <ip>...
Connected to <ip>.

Na verdade, ele não estava conectado ao servidor. Se eu desse um minuto, ele se desconectaria. Instalei o Wireshark na máquina e observei que não havia resposta sendo enviada do servidor para a solicitação de telnet.

Outra provou que era um problema de firewall que eu poderia conectar-me ao banco de dados de outra máquina, mas não do servidor. Então eu fiz um túnel ssh para mostrar que não era a forma como o aplicativo estava configurado, mas sim a rede.

ssh -L 1433:theServerGivingMeIssues:1433 SQLserver

Eu poderia me conectar ao servidor SQL sem o túnel, mas não consegui com o túnel.
