ID do evento DNS 4000 no SBS 2011

Estamos recebendo o seguinte evento ID 4000 (Fonte: DNS) em um servidor do Windows SBS 2011 SP1:

The DNS server was unable to open Active Directory. This DNS server is configured to obtain and use information from the directory for this zone and is unable to load the zone without it. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly and reload the zone. The event data is the error code.

Esse problema com o DNS está impedindo a execução dos serviços do Exchange.

Eu tentei reiniciar o servidor, removendo / instalando a função DNS e adicionando / removendo o adaptador de rede.

Ao tentar abrir o Gerenciador de DNS, recebo o seguinte erro:

Resolvemos esse problema executando o seguinte comando em nosso servidor de domínio:

nltest /sc_change_pwd:<fqdn>

Depois tivemos que reiniciar o servidor.
