Ao tentar acessar o serviço DNS no controlador de domínio / mestre do Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (Build 3790) por meio do snap-in do MMC DNS ou localmente por meio do DNS MMC das Ferramentas Administrativas, estou recebendo um "X" vermelho por meio do ícone para o servidor DNS. A incapacidade de acessar o gerenciamento de DNS via MMC também acontece em todos os controladores de domínio.
Analisamos itens como o cliente DHCP não iniciado, configuração de DNS incorreta (a máquina aponta para si mesma e outro DC), o serviço DNS não está em execução (é e todas as consultas DNS via NSLOOKUP funcionam corretamente) O dslint retorna as informações corretas e funciona conforme o esperado.
Existe a seguinte entrada no log de eventos do DNS:
The DNS server could not initialize the remote procedure call (RPC) service. If it is not running, start the RPC service or reboot the computer. The event data is the error code.

O dnscmd falha com o servidor RPC indisponível, mas o RPC é iniciado:

DCDIAG / TEST: DNS / V / E produz os seguintes erros:

Uma consulta DNS para _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs. retorna os resultados corretos.
Todas as atividades relacionadas a domínios e ADSs estão funcionando, exceto que não posso gerenciar meu DNS via MMC ou dnscmd.
Quaisquer pensamentos ou soluções seriam muito apreciados.
