Texto muito estranho no Debian

A fonte é DejaVu Sans, no entanto, não parece afetar todo o texto do DejaVu Sans (por exemplo, ele não afeta a barra de URL do Firefox).

Parece um problema da placa de vídeo para mim. Se você usar um driver de código fechado, tente o código aberto (e vice-versa). Tente atualizar o Xorg, tente alternar a opção de aceleração 3D / hardware no KDE. Tentar com o Xfce4 e outra fonte também pode valer a pena.
