Erro "Malformed patch" ao aplicar o diff para wget source com patch

10

Eu gostaria de aplicar este patch , então copiei o código a partir de "Index: src / options.h" e terminando com "+ @ item" e coloque-o em um novo arquivo criado na pasta de código fonte de wget . Então eu fiz:

$ patch -p0 < name_of_patch
(Patch is indented 1 space.)

Este é um problema comum com diffs copiados / colados em um arquivo de texto sem recuo de espaço. Você precisa adicionar espaço na frente de cada linha, exceto para as linhas que começam com os símbolos "+", "-" e "@@". Para evitar este problema, é melhor gerar os arquivos diff manualmente (usando diff ou uma ferramenta de controle de versão) e então baixar o arquivo diff como um todo, ao invés de copiar e colar do seu navegador.

Eu sugiro que, antes de aplicar o patch, você verifique se o patch fez upstream e está disponível em versões mais recentes / recentes / estáveis, o que resolveria seu problema de maneira limpa. Mesmo se você corrigir o arquivo .c , você irá compilá-lo de qualquer maneira, então porque não fazê-lo com um novo tarball estável, se o patch tiver sido feito no upstream.

Eu sigo os comentários gerais de Nikhils. No entanto, vou apenas salientar que, em geral, é melhor baixar o arquivo html e convertê-lo em texto, em vez de recortar e colar. Por exemplo, você pode fazer

1) wget -c link

2) Abra msg00011.html com o Openoffice, por exemplo. e salve como texto. O conversor OO fez um bom trabalho e não vi problemas óbvios com os patches convertidos.
