usando sudo em aplicativos GUI

Question

Quando eu estava usando o kubuntu, eu sempre conseguia abrir aplicativos X com o sudo, sudo kate por exemplo. Agora que mudei para arco que não funciona. Eu sei que sempre me disseram para usar o kdesu, mas qual configuração existe no kubuntu que me permite usar o sudo no X apps que me impede de fazer isso no arco?

Isso parece uma configuração intencional no Arch Linux. Veja isto para discussão com links para soluções.

A melhor dica parece estar adicionando "DISPLAY XAUTHORITY" aos padrões "env_keep" em /etc/sudoers .

O Fedora tem em /etc/sudoers o seguinte e isso permite que o sudo somexapp tenha sucesso.

Programas gráficos não devem ser executados com o sudo. A maneira correta é usar kdesudo no KDE para executar programas GUI como root, ou gksu no GNOME.
