Meu caso de uso é simples, só quero traduzir frases de um idioma diferente sem precisar acessar a Web. É possível ou não usar a ferramenta acima. Mesmo que seja um pouco quebrado, a sintaxe gramatical etc. pode valer a pena.

Uma ferramenta de linha de comando: translate-shell

Translate Shell (formerly Google Translate CLI) is a command-line translator powered by Google Translate (default), Bing Translator, Yandex.Translate, DeepL Translator and Apertium. It gives you easy access to one of these translation engines in your terminal.

apt install translate-shell

Você pode usar a opção -p para ativar o sintetizador de fala:

trans 'Buenos días. ¿Cómo estás?' -p

Para alterar o idioma de destino, use [source_LANG]:[target_LANG] e, g: (de espanhol para francês):

trans es:fr 'Buenos días. ¿Cómo estás?'

ou:

trans -s es -t fr 'Buenos días. ¿Cómo estás?'

Descobri que Ubuntu 16.04.3 lts tem uma versão antiga de weboob is é melhor clonar diretamente de git :

$ git clone https://git.weboob.org/weboob/devel.git weboob && cd weboob

Iniciar o módulo translaboob manualmente:

$ ./tools/local_run.sh  translaboob

Na primeira execução, você terá que escolher um back-end que deseja usar:

Available modules:
