O Scanner Canon Pixma MG2450 é suportado no Linux?

A impressora Cannon Pixma MG2450 possui um scanner integrado que deve funcionar com uma ferramenta como o Simple Scan (ou Xsane, Skanlite).

Eu tenho os drivers adequados (fornecidos pela Canon: scangearmp-common e scangearmp-mg2400series ) e fiquei com a impressão de que com eles o scanner funcionou no passado, mas agora não tenho tanta certeza ... depois de tentar e falhar para fazer funcionar ...

Como vimos aqui , a série Cannon Pixma 2400 parece ser compatível.

Não consigo acessar a varredura no Linux: tentei acessá-la no Ubuntu e em outros sistemas baseados em * ubuntu, como o Linux Mint 17.2 KDE e o elementary OS Freya.

A situação é um pouco confusa, então tento seguir a parte mais simples, a de instalar os drivers do scanner primeiro:

Usando os pacotes debian em vez dos deb eu recebo de fato uma segunda entrada na lista de impressoras, mas não há como fazê-la desaparecer para sempre: sempre que reconectar a impressora, uma segunda é adicionada. Removendo-o manualmente, tenho apenas o instalado por mim, mas só até reconectar a impressora. Mesmo assim, o scanner não funciona.

De qualquer forma, a impressora não é adicionada automaticamente a menos que as unidades Canon estejam instaladas!

A resposta é Sim .

Mesmo que não funcione com o Simple Scan em alguns sistemas, em outros, o Simple Scan está funcionando e / ou é suficiente.

Nos sistemas baseados em Ubuntu-14.04

Se os drivers estiverem instalados, mas ferramentas como Simple Scan e Xsane não funcionarem, existe uma ferramenta GUI de varredura separada da Canon chamada ScanGear que é instalada automaticamente ao instalar os pacotes de drivers ( scangearmp-common e scangearmp-mg2400series ), e destina-se especificamente para uso como aplicativo de digitalização com o scanner integrado Pixma.

ScanGear pode ser executado com o comando scangearmp .

Mas o Gimp não é necessário para que o ScanGear funcione, as pessoas mencionam o Gimp porque (como no meu caso) o ScanGear não cria seu próprio arquivo de desktop em usr/share/applications , está ausente no menu e por padrão não pode ser acessado em lançadores como Synapse, Dash, Kickoff. Para remediar isso e obter acesso fácil ao aplicativo, adicione um .desktop launcher para ScanGear. Com o editor de texto gedit :

sudo gedit /usr/share/applications/scan.desktop

e colando isso:

UPDATE em sistemas posteriores :

O acima foi testado em sistemas baseados no Ubuntu 14.04 e no Manjaro 15.09 (com scangearmp-common ).

Como indicado na outra resposta , no Ubuntu-15.10, o Simple Scan deve funcionar.

Nos sistemas baseados no Ubuntu 16.04, o Simple Scan é suficiente e os drivers para o scanner não são necessários.

Teste no Manjaro 16.10, a mesma coisa: scangearmp-common não é necessário e o Simple Scan é suficiente.

O que diz é isto:

First, the scanner has no support by sane, so mint can't install it by itself. There is no problem with the printer, gutenprint driver works great. As soon as you connect and turn on the printer, mint installs it, but there is no scanner. We need something else.

Solution: download canon drivers from canon and install them. You have to download - MG2400 series IJ Printer Driver Ver. 4.00 for Linux , debian package, and -MG2400 series ScanGear MP Ver. 2.20 for Linux (debian Packagearchive). There are 2 manuals about these drivers -ScanGear MP Ver. 2.20 for Linux (Operation guide) and -IJ Printer Driver Ver. 4.00 for Linux (Operation guide).

Once you have downloaded and extracted the .tar.gz files, read the manuals. Read them carefully and follow the instructions. The problem I had was that mint installed the printer by itself, automatically, and I didn't eliminate it, so I had the same printer with 2 different configurations, one with the canon driver and other with gutenprint driver. With this configuration just the gutenprint driver works, there is no scanner even if you install canon scanner driver.

When you install the canon printer driver with its installer (./install.sh) first, before you can register the printer, mint has installed it with its gutenprint driver, you only have the notification. In the manuals, they say that "if a window that prompts you to add a printer is automatically displayed when you connect the machine, cancel the window by closing it.". Maybe you have the chance with other distros, but mint doesn't ask. So you have to stop, go to Menu-Administration-Printers and eliminate the printer mint installed for you. Then you finish your canon printer driver installation. Turn off the printer and install the scanner.

The same story if you install first the scanner, when you turn on the machine, after installing the driver, mint installs the printer. É suportado. Eu tenho essa impressora conectada a uma máquina Ubuntu 15.10 e funcionou com a caixa simple-scan .
