Tela externa reconhecida, mas preta

Eu tenho um novo computador (i5-7200U, então Kabylake com um Intel HD Grpahics 620) rodando o Ubuntu 16.10.

E eu uso uma tela HDMI externa.

Por alguns motivos, este é detectado (eu o vejo no menu Display parameters), mas fica preto (com um sinal porque se não, o monitor desligaria).

No trabalho, tenho outra tela HDMI e não tenho problemas com essa. Eu também tentei vários cabos, mas a tela fica preta.

Esta tela está funcionando, já que eu a uso com outros computadores (Ubuntu 16.10, Hackintosh, Windows).

Estou um pouco perdido sobre o que posso fazer para resolver esse problema. Alguma idéia?

Já tentou pressionar o botão de menu do monitor? Use-o para selecionar a entrada HDMI.

Eu tive um problema parecido, completamente confuso até que percebi isso. Compartilhando no caso de você ter esquecido isso.
