Adquiri um Portable Seagate Backup Plus 5 TB USB 3.0 2.5 ", enquanto eu recentemente ultrapassei o drive de 1TB, conectei-me ao meu RPi2 rodando o ArchLinuxARM e servindo música em casa (graças a snapcast ).
Eu organizei a unidade do padrão Micro $ oft com ext4 no meu desktop / servidor principal (executando o Gentoo) sem nenhum problema. Eu intencionalmente omiti a reserva de espaço para root no dispositivo ao fazer isso usando a opção '-m 0' ...
mkfs.ext4 -m 0 /dev/sdg1
... e depois de concluído, usei o rsync para copiar todas as minhas músicas e vídeos copiados para a unidade Seagate antes de conectá-los ao RPi2.
O RPi2 detecta o dispositivo e pretende montá-lo, mas não consigo ler nada dele nem é detectado pelo df ...

O kernel parece ter detectado o dispositivo ok e o ext4 é suportado, penso que está listado em /proc/filesystems

e sua GPT, portanto a restrição do DOS não deve ser um problema aqui ...
