fraco sinal wifi kubuntu 16.04 Acer F15 com atheros Qualcomm

Eu sou um verdadeiro principiante. Desde a instalação, os sinais de Wi-Fi foram fracos, nunca acima de 60%, a menos de 20 cm da fonte do sinal. Infelizmente eu não corri este laptop com o Windows ou outro sistema operacional, então estou tentando determinar se isso é um problema de hardware ou software.
