Eu tenho uma Canon Laser Shot LBP6200d e estou executando o Ubuntu 16.04. A impressora não tinha um driver no banco de dados, portanto, instalei os drivers Linux de 64 bits do site da Canon e, uma vez que o fiz, o Linux identificou minha impressora. Primeiro, quando enviei arquivos para impressão, o status ficou completo, mesmo que o arquivo não tenha sido impresso. Depois disso, seguindo um guia, substituí o arquivo pdftops. Agora, quando eu imprimir qualquer coisa, o status é interrompido.

Portanto, fica bastante claro que a impressora foi instalada e reconhecida. Os drivers parecem estar funcionando e o sistema sabe o caminho correto para a impressora. (Tudo foi praticamente o mesmo antes de eu ter substituído pdftops
) Eu também sei que a impressora está funcionando porque funciona corretamente no Windows 10.

Eu também corri tail -f /var/log/syslog
com a impressora desconectada e, em seguida, enquanto ela estava em execução, conectei-a novamente. Esta é a saída que recebi depois que eu conectei a impressora:
