Esse tutorial é perfeito, mas ainda tenho problemas com o novo driver.
Eu não tenho experiência com drivers e outras coisas. Depois de instalar o Linux Mint 11 na minha máquina (fiz um dist-upgrade), tudo parecia ser ótimo - eu não precisava instalar nenhum driver. Depois de um tempo, percebi que minha conexão pararia depois de alguns minutos (isso mostra que estou conectado, mas não estou), então preciso me reconectar. Após alguns minutos, desconecta-se novamente.
Estou usando um adaptador sem fio USB da Alfa AWS036H. Eu acho que o driver que estou usando é o Realtek

Eu resolvi esse problema instalando o driver RTL8187L e o carregando.

Esse tutorial é perfeito, mas ainda tenho problemas com o novo driver.
Eu finalmente fiquei curioso e abri o estojo para descobrir que um dos diodos no PCB havia se fundido em um pequeno pedaço de solda. Eu tive que comprar um novo.
A garantia já estava expirada na minha, então eu não tive nenhum escrúpulo em abri-la, mas se a sua ainda for boa, eu aproveitaria e a substituiria.
