O Linux não reconhece a senha correta quando está executando o ssh'ing?

Eu criei um encaminhamento de porta local e estava tentando ssh em meu próprio porto. Durante o processo, descobri que o meu próprio Linux não me reconhece mesmo quando tenho a senha correta

Eu tentei como root@localhost e chulhyun@localhost (chulhyun é meu nome de usuário). Em ambos os casos, não tenho nenhum problema para entrar na conta, mas quando eu digito a senha quando eles pedem minha senha durante o ssh'ing, eles dizem que está errado ...

O que estou perdendo aqui? Existe para ser um rei separado de senha para login na rede?

Esta é uma resposta que eu finalmente alcanço após a discussão feita nos comentários.

A partir dos comentários, percebi que a conexão à porta 2200 é, na verdade, uma tentativa de efetuar login no servidor de destino remoto. Com base nessa descoberta, eu não só estava digitando a senha errada, mas também tentando fazer o login com o nome de usuário incorreto. O nome de usuário que eu tenho no servidor de destino é 'kwagjj', então obviamente, tentar chulhyun@localhost foi totalmente errado.

Então eu tentei ssh kwagjj@localhost -p 2200 e com a senha para a conta kwagjj que eu tenho no servidor de destino e consegui entrar.

O ponto é, ao utilizar a porta local que você encaminhou, tratá-la como se estivesse enfrentando o servidor remoto no final da porta local.
