Ubuntu 14.04 não detecta mais a eth0

Question

Eu configurei meu eth0 para Shared Internet com outro e isso costumava funcionar. Eu não consigo descobrir o que eu posso ter feito para quebrar isso, mas o eth0 não parece detectar o link ... às vezes ele faz e obtém o esperado 10.42.0.1 IP.

Eu tentei trazer o link para baixo e para cima novamente. Ocasionalmente o link irá aparecer com esta operação ... mas isso não é consistente
