Problema ao rodar o Ubuntu no crouton depois de atualizar o chromeos

Estou usando o Ubuntu 14.04 usando o Crouton em um Chromebook 2 da Toshiba há vários meses. Hoje saí do Crouton e reiniciei o meu Chromebook. Depois de reiniciar e emitir sudo startxfce4 no shell, recebi o seguinte erro

Corrigido meu próprio problema. Baixou a versão mais recente do crouton e emitiu sudo sh ~/Downloads/crouton -u -n chrootname e tudo voltou ao normal.

Aqui chrootname refere-se ao nome de usuário usado durante a instalação do crouton.

Eu tive um erro semelhante em que o xfce4 não começava de repente depois de uma atualização automática no lado do chrome. Resolveu o problema baixando a versão mais recente do crouton ( link ) e executando sudo sh ~/Downloads/crouton -u -t xfce . ( -u para atualização e -t xfce para especificar a meta de ambiente xfce). Não sou de modo algum um especialista, mas funcionou bem para mim.
