Adicionar uma rota de prioridade mais alta permite comunicação?

Então, por algum motivo, estou tendo problemas de conexão com o meu pi de framboesa. O estranho é que eu posso facilmente pingar tudo o que tenho na rede local. Eu "resolvi" no final, adicionando manualmente uma rota, mas gostaria de descobrir a causa raiz.

Você pode ver quais comandos eu emiti e como, de repente, essa rota corrige as coisas:
