Vlc - dependências de pacote não podem ser resolvidas [duplicado]

Eu tentei instalar o Vlc 2.2 no Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, pois ele não está disponível no Ubuntu Software Center usando os seguintes comandos:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mc3man/trusty-media
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install vlc 

Mas mostrou erros:

agora, mesmo que eu tente instalá-lo usando o Ubuntu Software Center, ele me mostra que as dependências do pacote não podem ser resolvidas.

O VLC também está presente no Ubuntu Repos. Você pode instalá-lo depois de habilitar o Repo do universo. Isso deve ser ativado automaticamente quando você instala o Ubuntu e seleciona instalar software de terceiros e instalar atualizações durante a instalação.

Se você perdeu durante a instalação, você pode enbleizar o repositório unniverse abrindo o software e as fontes e selecionar os repositórios como mostrado na figura.

Depois de fechar, você tem a opção de recarregar o cache.

Uma vez que isso é feito, você deve ver o VLC no software Center ou você pode instalá-lo via linha de comando.

Não há necessidade de adicionar qualquer repo de terceiros, a menos que você não consiga encontrar o que deseja no repositório oficial ou deseja o melhor e mais recente.

Os PPAs podem, às vezes, quebrar o sistema por causa da incompatibilidade de biblioteca. Alway USE PPA's com cautela.
