Por que estou perdendo áudio no VLC ao reproduzir vídeos HQ?

Estou tendo um problema com o VLC quando reproduzo vídeos HQ (720p ou superior): quando tento procurar uma cena específica (digamos que estou reproduzindo um filme e quero chegar a uma marca de 30 minutos), o som apaga-se Isso não acontece sempre, mas acontece com frequência, e quando perco o som é apenas no vídeo que estou jogando. Eu nunca tive esse problema no Parole Media Player, então acho que algo deve ser confundido no VLC. Alguém tem alguma idéia do que poderia estar errado e como posso corrigi-lo?
