Nenhum EOF, quando um programa lê seu próprio arquivo executável no cifs mount

Question

Meu instalador baseado em java não pode copiar-se para o dir de destino comendo todo o espaço em disco e eu pensei que era um erro de java, mas então eu o reproduzi com dd .

Quando tento ler meu próprio executável usando um buffer grande o suficiente (131072), a operação de leitura repentinamente retorna um valor maior que o tamanho real do arquivo e nunca retorna EOF:

Isso só acontece quando samba server e cifs mount são executados no Oracle Linux 6.6 com samba 3.6.23-12.0.1.el6 .

O que é isso? Um bug de kernel, cifs ou samba?

Supondo que você não possa reproduzir este problema com outro sistema de arquivos na mesma máquina, isso deve ser um erro do samba.

Se é um cliente ou um problema de servidor é um ponto discutível, mas eu acho que tem a ver com o mesmo arquivo sendo mapeado para execução e aberto para leitura, que provavelmente é tratado incorretamente, porque read call não deve retornar nada além de eof. Metadados de arquivo incorretos (ou seja, tamanho) também podem causar esse comportamento.
