Eu acabei de ler e atualizar uma dúzia de máquinas de 9.0-RELEASE para 9.1-RELEASE e a última está morrendo durante buildworld :

/etc/make.conf é bastante benigno neste ponto, com a maioria das otimizações desativadas:
