A licença Minix 3 é compatível com GPL?

Alguém sabe se a licença do Minix 3 é compatível com GPL? É uma licença do estilo BSD, mas não tenho certeza se é compatível com a GPL.

A licença Minix 3 é muito semelhante a uma licença de estilo padrão BSD que é mais permissiva que a GPL, por exemplo, permitirá o uso comercial do software em formato binário sem forçar uma liberação do código-fonte.

É considerado software livre (como qualquer outro software BSD), mas não é compatível com a GPL principalmente devido à "cláusula de publicidade" . A GPL tende a ser mais restritiva. Em outras palavras, enquanto a GPL permite o uso comercial do software, ele força a liberação do código-fonte sob a GPL agora e no futuro (para qualquer um que o modifique ainda mais). As três primeiras cláusulas são exatamente as da licença BSD de 3 cláusulas , que é compatível com a GPL . A quarta cláusula é redundante, qualquer outro uso é violação de direitos autorais, a menos que explicitamente permitido pelo detentor dos direitos autorais. Portanto, a licença do MINIX é compatível com GPL.
