iwlwifi internet 5Ghz aleatoriamente fica por segundos

Recentemente, atualizamos nosso provedor de internet, que agora vem com 2.4Ghz e 5Ghz wifi. Eu posso conectar corretamente em 2.4GHz enquanto em 5Ghz estou experimentando "atrasos" aleatórios na conexão. Mais especificamente, o gerenciador de rede não está se desconectando do roteador, no entanto, para atualizar uma página em um navegador quando o atraso atinge de 7 a 30 segundos. Algumas vezes a conexão ssh é descartada também. Isso está acontecendo de forma aleatória, mas geralmente a cada 3-5 minutos. Eu tentei mudar o canal 5Ghz sem sorte. Os demais dispositivos da casa não estão com problemas.

Já tentei reinstalar unidades Intel 3160 a partir de backports, assim como reinstalar a imagem linux sem sorte. Eu também desativei wifi.powersave para wlan0 sem sorte.

Alguém tem uma ideia de como resolver ou depurar esse problema?

Parece que o problema foi o driver do adaptador wifi. Eu resolvi o problema com sucesso atualizando o Kernel para a versão mais recente (4.18) incluída no repositório stretch-backports.

O Apt deve ter fontes de backports ativadas

for Debian Stretch, append the following in /etc/apt/sources.list :

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian stretch-backports main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.debian.org/debian stretch-backports main contrib non-free

depois, instale o kernel:

sudo apt update && sudo apt -t stretch-backports install linux-image-4.18.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 linux-headers-4.18.0-0.bpo.1-amd64

e reinicie para carregar o novo kernel.
