xrandr lista áudio (por HDMI), mas aplay não

Estou em 14.04 e tentando obter som sobre displayport - & gt; HDMI - & gt; TV no meu Dell Optiplex 780 com gráficos Intel GMA4500. O problema não é (ainda) displayport - & gt; HDMI que parece ser dependente do adaptador, mas neste momento, aplay -l não lista o cartão Intel.

xrandr --verbose lista a TV, o EDID e

audio: auto 
supported: force-dvi off auto on

Eu estava esperando que, se os gráficos não suportassem som, xrandr não listaria áudio e que isso é apenas um problema de driver.

Eu tentei instalar o driver oficial da Intel (com o instalador gráfico), adicionei i915.disable_power_well=0 , atualizei para alsa-daily e atualizei para o kernel mais recente conforme sugestões da própria internet. Nenhuma mudança.

Os gráficos estão bem.
