Como forçar o vesa a uma resolução de 1280x1024

Estou usando o Manjaro (ArchLinux) usando o driver vesa, já que o fglrx beta trava muito e o radeon e o fglrx stable não suportam minha placa gráfica.

Eu quero forçar a resolução do meu monitor ao máximo (1280x1024), como fazê-lo? Aqui está o meu xorg.conf

Esse problema no ArchLinux Newbie Corner intitulado: [RESOLVIDO] Problemas com a resolução de configuração do driver Vesa , soa semelhante ao seu. Há algumas coisas destacadas nesse tópico que você pode tentar.

O mais importante seria certificar-se de que você não esteja passando nenhum parâmetro do kernel relacionado à sua placa de vídeo que possa estar cooptando o driver da Vesa para fazê-lo.
