Tentei alternar v enquanto a mídia estava tocando, mas sem sucesso. Não há subs. Alternando v diz -

a. Legendas ocultas b. legendas visíveis (mas nenhuma legenda selecionada)

Como eu saio desse atoleiro?

a resposta é -

adicionando --sid=1 ou --sid = 2, dependendo da existência de uma ou mais legendas internamente. as duas bandeiras também são convenientes se você tiver uma legenda interna e uma legenda externa e quiser escolher entre as duas também.

Renomeie o arquivo de legenda para o mesmo nome do arquivo de mídia, exceto a extensão. Então, se os arquivos são:

foo_s01e01_xvid.mkv
foo.srt

Execute mv foo.srt foo_s01e01_xvid.srt . Depois disso, execute mpv foo_s01e01_xvid.mkv .
