Como solucionar este aviso de fontes duplicadas ao instalar o mais novo Google Chrome Debian?

Estou atualizando meu Google Chrome de 53.x para 56.x, tendo o google-chrome-stable em apt desta vez. Eu não fiz nada para a versão antiga do Google Chrome porque não sei como lidar com isso. Meu /etc/apt/sources.list no Debian 8.5

Eu instalei o novo Google Chrome como root por

apt-get update 
apt-get install google-chrome-stable

OS: Debian 8.5
Kernel do Linux: 4.7

O seguinte comando:

sh -c 'echo "deb [arch=amd64] http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome.list'

adicionará uma nova entrada google-chrome.list ao seu /etc/apt/sources.list.d . Verifique com ls /etc/apt/sources.list.d e, em seguida, remova a entrada ditada.

Se você tiver uma única entrada, verifique o arquivo google-chrome.list e, em seguida, comente as URLs duplicadas em /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome.list
