Em 13.10 mint gráfico periodicamente congela após atualizações recentes

laptop lenovo idéia pad u430p, Linux Mint 16. Como eu disse no título, ocasionalmente gráficos congelam enquanto todos os outros sistemas continuam a funcionar normalmente (música toca, por exemplo). Às vezes, ele descongela depois de um minuto ou mais, às vezes não e eu tive que redefinir a máquina.

A sugestão de Mikserv de que o problema aqui é o driver faz sentido. Como ele aponta, você tem gráficos híbridos e isso não funciona muito bem no Linux. Então, tente o seguinte:

  1. Instale os cabeçalhos do kernel e o módulo nvidia DKMS

    sudo aptitude -r install linux-headers-$(uname -r|sed 's,[^-]*-[^-]*-,,') nvidia-kernel-dkms  nvidia-xconfig nvidia-xsettings
    
  2. Crie este arquivo: /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-nvidia.conf com o seguinte conteúdo:

    Seção "Dispositivo"       Identificador "My GPU"       Driver "nvidia" EndSection

    Você pode fazer isso automaticamente com estes comandos:

    sudo -i
    mkdir -p /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d
    echo -e 'Section "Device"\n\tIdentifier "My GPU"\n\tDriver "nvidia"\nEndSection' >> /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-nvidia.conf
    
  3. Desabilite a comutação de gráficos no seu BIOS. Nem sempre existe essa configuração, mas no meu thikpad eu tinha algo como "seleção de SO", você precisa desativar isso e escolher a placa nvidia.

  4. Supondo que tudo correu como planejado, você pode ajustar suas configurações usando nvidia-xsettings , que foi instalado na primeira etapa. Você também pode usar o programa auxiliar da nvidia para criar um xorg.conf apropriado:

    sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak sudo nvidia-xconfig

NOTA: Se você não puder desabilitar a alternação de elementos gráficos, as opções acima podem não funcionar e podem fazer com que você inicialize em uma tela preta. Eu recomendo que você veja essas referências primeiro:
