A NVIDIA-SMI diz que falhou porque não conseguiu se comunicar com o driver NVIDIA

Instalei recentemente o Ubuntu 18.04 e instalei o driver NVIDIA, mas eles não parecem estar carregando.

Eu tive que fazer a seguinte edição no meu arquivo grub para fazer as coisas inicializar corretamente como por este pequeno guia .

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash nouveau.modeset=0 tpm_tis.interrupts=0 acpi_osi=Linux i915.preliminary_hw_support=1 idle=nomwait"

Isso é o que minhas saídas de comando atualmente fornecem:

Eu instalei os drivers via sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall como por este guia

EDIT: Aqui estão mais algumas saídas de comando:

Recentemente, tive o mesmo problema. Para que funcionasse, o que fiz foi:

  • Excluiu todos os pacotes nvidia via synaptic (talvez seja o suficiente para sudo apt purge nvidia* )
  • PC reiniciado
  • Instalado nvidia-drivers-396 (no seu caso nvidia-driver-390)
  • PC reiniciado
  • Executado:
    • sudo prime-select nvidia
    • sudo prime-select intel
    • sudo prime-select nvidia
  • Logout (reiniciar deve fazer a mesma coisa) e estava funcionando.
