Então eu estou usando o Ubuntu 13.10 e eu tenho esse dispositivo USB wifi (TP-Link TL-WN821N V4) no meu computador.
Agora, quando eu uso internet via terminal, tudo está bem, eu posso fazer o upload e download de toda a internet, se eu quiser. Mas uma vez que eu abro um navegador (não importa se o Firefox ou o cromo), eu posso navegar para como 4 páginas e, em seguida, minha conexão pára. Ainda consigo ver que estou conectado, mas não consigo mais usar a internet.
Além disso, quando eu me desconectar da rede atualmente conectada, não poderei mais reconectar-me lá.
Este problema, por enquanto, só é corrigido com uma reinicialização. Então, para cada 4 páginas que visito, reinicie.

Talvez valha a pena mencionar que eu também tentei instalar os drivers do Windows com o programa instalador de drivers do Windows que o Linux possui, mas que resultou em efeitos horríveis. Eu tive que reinstalar o Ubuntu depois disso.
Então, sim, o que poderia ser um problema aqui? Estou usando o driver errado de código aberto aqui? E vocês precisam mais informação. Espero ter tirado as informações do syslog dos pontos certos, da tabela de horários parece que a hora da anomalia da rede ocorreu.
Encontrou uma referência a este bug quais comentários sugerem a lista negra do driver assim:

Após a reinicialização, ele deve funcionar melhor. Caso contrário, remova o arquivo /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-ar9170.conf .
