Problema resolvido, perdi um passo na Wiki do Bluetooth. Adicionado meu usuário ao grupo plugdev com:
usermod -a -G plugdev ecyoung
Por que não consigo conectar o seguinte mouse:

O dispositivo 2, o controlador, está funcionando bem, depois de algum googling com o ID hexadecimal (consulte Answer: Firmware Update para ver como eu consegui funcionar, caso você esteja curioso, eis onde estou perplexo usando o Wiki do Gentoo Bluetooth e as páginas Arch Bluetooth Mouse , a seguinte é a saída que recebo de blutoothctl :

Observe as linhas NEW, CHG e DEL do mouse Bluetooth M336 / M337 / M535 (só recebo as linhas NEW, CHG e DEL ao pressionar o botão de pareamento). Toda vez que tento conectar confiança ou emparelhar o item, recebo:

Estou tentando converter meus periféricos em Bluetooth para salvar minhas portas USB no lado frontal. Não me atrevo a experimentar meus novos fones de ouvido até ter um mouse em funcionamento.
Eu olhei para a embalagem hoje e o mouse foi empacotado oficialmente como o mouse Bluetooth Logitech M535
