Debian não usa o monitor inteiro no PC All-In-One

Eu instalei o Debian para dual boot com o Windows 7 neste velho Sony VAIO VGC-JS110J que eu tenho há anos. Eu sou muito novo no Linux, então, por favor, descubra comigo. Eu decidi usar a versão estável do amd64 com o firmware LXDE e não-livre.

Eu corri apt-get update e apt-get upgrade assim que ele foi totalmente instalado. A tela era de 1600x1200 60Hz quando estava totalmente inicializada e conectada, mas uma polegada da tela à direita não estava sendo usada e a parte inferior da tela estava fora da tela por um pouco (a barra de tarefas não estava aparecendo). Eu defini a resolução para 1600x1050 59 Hz, o que parece se encaixar na parte utilizável da tela.
