A distro é baseada no Ubuntu xenial. Na verdade, o sources.list é o mesmo da minha configuração do Ubuntu. Quando tento instalar o ZFS através do modo normal do Ubuntu (sudo apt install ZFS), não há zfs.ko.
Por favor, você pode ajudar?
ps. Eu recebo o mesmo problema do meu laptop (HP 8640p) ou usando o VirtualBox.

Acabei de instalar a distro em um novo contêiner de virtualbox. Eu tentei ambos os ISOs: neon-userltsedition-20171011-0018-amd64.iso e neon-useredition-20171012-1018-amd64.iso.
Aqui estão os passos que segui após a conclusão da instalação (ou seja, primeiro arranque)
step1: sudo apt update
step2: sudo apt upgrade completo
step3: sudo reboot agora
step4: sudo apt instala zfs (note que usando zfs o pacote instala zfsutils-linux. O Ubuntu também recomenda usar o pacote zfs para as versões 16.xx: link )
